Managing subscriber tags
Organize subscribers with tags you apply by hand, through imports, or from signup forms. Use tags to filter your audience and build groups.
Tags are labels you put on subscribers to remember something about them: which form they came through, which batch they were imported in, which product they bought. Each tag has a color, and you can filter or group by any of them.
Create a tag
- Open Audience, then select Everyone.
- Select the menu in the upper right.
- Select Tags.
- Select the button.
- Name the tag, pick a color, and save it.
You can also create a tag on the spot wherever you’re choosing tags, like while adding a subscriber or setting up an import.
Update a tag
- Open Tags.
- Select the tag name to rename it, or its color dot to change its color.
- Save your changes.
Apply tags
Tags reach subscribers four ways:
- By hand. Open a subscriber, select Edit, and toggle tags on or off.
- In bulk. Filter the list, select Actions, then Add tag or Remove tag.
- During an import. Choose tags while setting up a file import or a connection, and everyone it adds gets them.
- From a form. Choose tags in a form’s settings, and everyone who joins through it gets them.
Delete a tag
- Open Tags.
- Select the button next to the tag.
- Confirm the deletion.
Caution
Deleting a tag removes it from every subscriber and signup form, and clears any group filters that use it.
