Managing subscriber groups
Save filtered subscriber lists for focused sends. Groups update on their own as subscribers are added, changed, tagged, or removed.
A group is a saved set of filters. The people in it are always the ones who match right now.
Create a group
- Open Audience, then select Everyone.
- Select the button and add one or more filters.
- Select Actions, then Save as group.
- Name the group and save it.
A subscriber has to match every filter to be in the group. Filters come in three kinds:
- Fields: the email address and any field you’ve created, with operators that fit the type, like “includes” for text, “is more than” for numbers, and “in the last” for dates.
- Attributes: how someone joined (Source, Form, or Connection), when they were Created, and their Tags.
- Activity: whether and how recently they were Emailed, Opened, Clicked, or Liked, or how many times.
Groups appear on the Audience page with a live count.
Email a group
- Open or create an email.
- Select the audience and subject button at the top of the email.
- Choose the group from the audience list.
When you send, XOXO uses the subscribers who match the group at that moment. See Sending.
Update a group
- Open Audience, then select the group.
- Open the group menu at the top of the list.
- Select the menu next to the group, then Edit.
- Change the name or filters, then save.
Delete a group
- Open Audience, then select the group.
- Open the group menu at the top of the list.
- Select the menu next to the group, then Delete.
- Confirm the deletion.
Deleting a group doesn’t delete any subscribers.
