XOXO referral program

Earn 25% of every payment from accounts you refer to XOXO, applied automatically as credit toward your bill. Share your link or let badges do it.

When someone follows your referral link and becomes a paying XOXO account, you earn 25% of every payment they make, before tax, for as long as they keep paying. It’s on for every account, free or paid, with nothing to apply for and no minimum to reach.

How it works

Earnings arrive as credit on your billing balance. If you have a paid account, credit applies automatically to your next invoice, and anything left over carries forward. If your account is free, the credit waits until you have an invoice to put it toward.

Referrals in Settings shows your link, how many accounts it has brought in, and the amount earned. Earned is your lifetime referral credit after refunds and disputes, so it can differ from your unused balance once some credit has paid an invoice.

Every account has its own referral link, and everyone on the team can see it.

  1. Open Settings from the actions menu in the lower left.
  2. Find Referrals and select the copy button beside your link.
  3. Share it anywhere you talk about XOXO.

Caution

Renaming your account changes your referral link. Copy the new one and replace it anywhere you’ve shared it. Referrals through the old link won’t be counted.

Let your badges share for you

Every email and signup form carries a referral badge that uses your link, so you’re sharing just by sending. Anyone who follows a badge and creates an account counts as your referral, the same as if you had shared the link yourself.

The badge is on by default. To hide it, open the email or form, open Design, and turn Referral badge off. XOXO asks you to confirm, since a hidden badge can’t bring in referrals. On an email the setting applies to that email only. On a form it applies to the landing page, the success page, the confirmation email, and the embedded version. An embed can also hide the badge on its own by adding ?badge=0 to the iframe’s address, covered in Embedding.

How a referral is counted

When someone follows your link, XOXO remembers the visit for 30 days. An account created in that window is added to your referral count, free or paid, and you start earning when it makes its first payment. If they followed more than one referral link, the first one wins.

The fine print

  • Refunds and lost disputes reverse the matching credit.
  • Referral credit has no cash value and can only be used toward XOXO invoices. It can’t be withdrawn.
  • Credit doesn’t survive closing your account.
  • Referrals have to be real people outside your account. Signing yourself up again, or creating accounts you or your organization control, doesn’t count and can remove your account from the program.
